Cancellation Policy

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must occur 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. Compassionate Companions Ottawa West (CC Ottawa West) provides non-medical companionship and support services only and does not provide medical, nursing, therapy, or personal care services requiring professional licensing. The client and/or family agrees to provide accurate health, mobility, medication, and emergency information and to advise CC Ottawa West of any material changes. In the event of a medical emergency, CC Ottawa West and its caregivers may contact emergency services and the client’s emergency contacts. The client acknowledges that CC Ottawa West is not responsible for medical decisions or outcomes. The client acknowledges that participation in daily activities, walking, transportation, and companionship services may involve inherent risks including falls, injury, illness, or other unforeseen events. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CC Ottawa West shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the services provided. Any liability of CC Ottawa West shall be limited to the fees paid for services in the preceding 30 days. You acknowledge that the individuals providing services (caregivers) for CC Ottawa West are independent contractors and not employees, agents, or representatives of CC Ottawa West. Caregivers are independent contractors and are solely responsible for their own conduct, insurance, taxes, and legal obligations. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CC Ottawa West, its owners, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including legal fees, arising out of or related to services provided by such independent contractors. CC Ottawa West does not guarantee specific health, emotional, or personal outcomes resulting from companionship services. Transportation is provided as a convenience only. The client accepts the risks associated with vehicle travel. CC Ottawa West is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to cash, jewelry, valuables, or personal property unless caused by proven gross negligence. CC Ottawa West may suspend or terminate services where caregivers are subjected to unsafe, abusive, discriminatory, or threatening conditions.
